One of the best ways to see the Otago Peninsula’s wildlife is by taking a Monarch Wildlife tour.
Monarch Wildlife Cruises and Tours have been operating since 1983 and are the winners of three New Zealand tourism awards.

Monarch Wildlife Cruises offer passengers the opportunity to view the unique diversity that the Otago Peninsula has on offer. Wildlife you can be shown include Albatrosses, Fur Seals, Yellow Eyed Penguins, Shags, Gulls, Terns, Oyter Catchers, Herons. In addition to these animals there is also wildlife that is often seen on the tours such as Dolphins, Sea Lions, Blue Penguins, Shearwaters, Godwits, Royal Spoonbills, Cape Pigeons and Petrels.

Passengers on the Monarch have the option of four different tours available to them:
Wildlife cruise from Wellers Rock lasting 1 hour.
Peninsula/Cruise lasting up to half a day.
Otago Peninsula package lasting the whole day.
Dinner/Social Cruises that take part in the evening.
