A visit to Dunedin wouldn’t be complete without taking a ride on the Taieri Gorge Railway. One of Dunedin’s top attractions, the Taieri Gorge Railway takes passengers daily from the busy town life-style and transports them through the spectacular Taieri Gorge River towards Central Otago. The award winning train service provides viewing of a range of different landscapes, cityscapes, farming areas, forestry and the Taieri River Gorge.
A live commentary is provided during the trip, which tells of the history and heritage of the area.
There is also a choice of modern and traditional carriages and sight seeing stops along the way allow for perfect photo opportunities, while a fully licensed snack bar is also close at hand.
You may also ride the Taieri Gorge Railway on your way to visit spectacular Queenstown. The Train will take you to Pukerangi where a coach is ready to pick you up and take you the rest of the way to Queenstown.
